A timer-driven coop door that lifts at your morning hour and seals at your evening hour — every day, on the dot, whether you are away for the weekend or still asleep.
You set two times once. The door does the rest for about six months on three AA cells. There is no wiring to run, no app to pair, no account to create and nothing to charge.
What it does
- Opens and closes on a schedule you set. Press the set key, dial the opening hour and the closing hour. The LCD holds both, and keeps them through a battery change.
- Runs about six months on three AA batteries. Alkaline or lithium. Batteries are not included.
- Lifts a real aluminium panel, in an aluminium frame — not a plastic flap in a plastic track that bows out of square after a wet winter.
- Manual override any time with the up and down arrows, without disturbing the schedule.
- Installs with the eight screws in the box, in about fifteen minutes with a cordless drill.

Before you order, three honest things
It is a timer, not a light sensor. It opens and closes at the hours you programme and nothing else. In Australia that is often an advantage — sunrise moves by more than two hours across the year, and a fixed morning hour means the flock is let out at the same time whatever the season. Nudge the times a couple of times a year if you prefer to track daylight.
Do not rely on it to detect a bird in the doorway. We do not advertise an obstacle sensor on this model, and we ask you to treat it as though it has none. Set the closing time fifteen to twenty minutes after your flock normally goes up to roost, and watch them for the first few evenings until you know their habit. Hens settle before dusk by nature, so a well-chosen closing time is rarely a problem — but choosing it is your job, and we would rather say so than let you find out later.
Measure first. The frame needs a flat vertical surface and roughly 570 mm of clear height above the sill so the panel can lift fully.
