How it works
Two times. Eight screws.
Then nothing, for months.
There is no light sensor, no phone pairing and no account to create. You tell the door when to open and when to close, and it keeps doing exactly that.
Set two times
Press the set key, dial the hour the door should lift and the hour it should seal. The LCD holds both. That is the entire configuration — and it survives a battery change.
Screw it on
Eight screws through the aluminium frame into the coop wall. A cordless drill and about fifteen minutes. The 244 × 328 mm frame suits most timber and ply coops.
Walk away
The motor raises the aluminium panel each morning and lowers it each night. Three AA cells carry it roughly six months. Override any time with the up and down arrows.

FAQ
The questions people actually ask.
Does it open on daylight, or on a timer?
On a timer. You set an opening time and a closing time once, and the door repeats them every day. There is no light sensor in this model. In practice that is an advantage in Australia: sunrise shifts by more than two hours across the year, and a fixed morning time means your birds are let out at the same hour whatever the season — you simply nudge the times a couple of times a year if you want to track daylight.
What happens if a bird is in the doorway at closing time?
Be straight with yourself about this one: do not rely on this door to detect a bird in the doorway. We do not advertise an obstacle sensor on it, and we ask you to treat it as though it has none. Set the closing time fifteen to twenty minutes after your flock normally goes up to roost, and check the first few evenings until you know their habit. Hens are creatures of routine and settle before dusk, so a correctly set closing time is rarely an issue — but the responsibility for choosing it sits with you.
Will it fit my coop?
The frame is 244 mm wide by 328 mm tall and 50 mm deep, and needs a flat vertical surface with roughly 570 mm of clear height above the sill so the panel can lift fully. The opening the birds walk through is 211 mm wide by 254 mm tall — enough for two standard hens abreast, and fine for bantams through to large fowl. Measure before you order.
Are batteries included?
No. It takes three AA cells, which we do not ship — alkaline or lithium both work, and lithium holds up better through a cold night. Carbon-zinc cells are not supported by the manufacturer. Expect around six months from a set.
Is it waterproof?
The housing is weather-resistant and designed to sit on a coop wall that has some shelter — under an eave or an overhang. It is not built for a wall that takes driving rain head-on with nothing above it.
How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?
Shipping is free anywhere in Australia. Your order is dispatched in 1 to 2 business days and arrives in 7 to 11 business days with tracking. It ships from our supply partner's warehouse in China — we say so plainly, because you deserve to know before you buy, not after. Orders under A$1,000 clear customs without duty or extra charges on delivery.
What if I change my mind, or it arrives faulty?
You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind — contact us and we will arrange the return. If it arrives faulty or fails within the warranty period, we replace or refund it at no cost to you. All of this sits on top of the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which we cannot and do not exclude.
